A trip to Europe inspired the work of Alison Bodman and her travel accessories. ” Everything that I saw came in either biege or black, it was all so daggy and uninspiring”
So with a love of vintage/new fabrics, op shopping and travelling the world and all things colourful, Alison created a range of travel accessories to combine all these passions.

My goal is to create beautiful things that bring people joy. I love clay and what it can do. I like to play around with it and have fun. All my work is made by hand, glazed and fired in my Melbourne studio.

I Create hand built ceramic and hand painted silk pieces. My work is a balance of bright quirky and organic earthy.
My work is inspired by the Australian bush and coastlines. I try to capture the colours and textures that nature does so well. The female form with all its curves and shape also influences my work.

This jewellery has come from making sculpture as I studied at RMIT. In sculpture I knit wire, long lengths of it, and so it was a natural progression to make smaller body pieces. Then I wanted them to become more precious so now I knit with sterling silver. Soft, shiny and strong. Amulets, earrings and bracelets – the pieces are like small sculptures.
Recently I’ve begun to curl things; earrings, necklaces, so the pieces are changing as I work. I’m also making pins/brooches for men and plaited fine bracelets so they can wear hand made pieces too. I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I do making them.

Art & Illusion – Handmade Mosaic and Artworks
I have been making, selling and teaching mosaic for the past 11 years, using many medias but I really love to use English china, giving a more delicate appearance to mosaic. I purposely do not make 2 mosaics the same, thus, giving the owner of one of my mosaics, a truly original one-of-a-kind piece of artwork.

All my designs are hand cut and printed onto either 100% cotton or linen tea towels, using water based inks which are kinder to the planet.
My inspiration comes from all around me, including my childhood and my three children. I hope you enjoy your tea towel as much as I have designing and making them.
