opening party in brisbane

On Monday 2nd August, in.cube8r in fortitude valley had their official opening party – and it was an awesome turnout!!!  Over 150 people, including artists, customers, friends, family & industry contacts, crammed into the gorgeous pink shop to help celebrate this amazing new concept store finally landing in Brisbane.  With entertainment, catering & artist prize giveaways, there was a great atmosphere throughout the night, and all who attended enjoyed the variety in the store, and the exposure offered to artists wanting a platform for their lovely bits & pieces.

The reception that the store opening received means that there is a genuine interest in all things handmade in Brisbane, and it was encouraging to see so many people celebrating these talented people that make this amazing new concept store work so well!!

Thanks to all the people who made it happen for me – from family & friends with their time & support, through to the people behind the scenes toiling with the numbers, websites, IT & legalities, but it’s the artists and their amazing skills that shone through on the night.

I hope that this is the start of the in.cube8r revolution that will take over Australia………………..Brisbane now has in.cube8r fever!!!

wow what a ride!!!!

It’s been the biggest learning curve I’ve EVER been on, but BOY HAVE WE LANDED!!!!

in.cube8r fortitude valley is now open and running like a dream!!!!  On Wednesday 12th May, the first in.cube8r franchise opened it’s doors to the extremely curious Brisbane public!!!  We have had nothing but positive feedback about the shop and it’s concept that supports local artists, and we couldn’t be happier!!!!

The fitout was a big task, but luckily we are very blessed with family and friends who helped us at every point!!!  From building the cube towers, to installing the gorgeous track lighting, to knocking out walls and putting up shelves, we even had volunteers to mind the kids while we burnt the candle at both ends on site!!!  I’m so very grateful to all my friends and family, and definitely couldn’t have done it without them all!!!!  A big thank you to my dear patient husband, who took a week off work just to be covered in pink paint the whole time!!!!! ;)

And all of the artists who have taken this journey with us from day one…………..what a pleasure it’s been to meet you all!!  Artists have enjoyed tinkering in their cubes, and have been very resourceful when displaying their wares!!  It’s great to see their minds tick over working out what fits and how to fill the space, and even better to provide this exposure on their behalf!

So how FABULOUS does an in.cube8r shop look in fortitude valley!?!!!  We’ve been inundated with passers by dropping in, as well as friends of artists who have included us in their blogs – it’s been great to see the amount of support our artists have, and very very exciting to see the great range of talent that is in the shop!!!

There are still some limited spaces available for artists looking to rent a cube or space in the store for June & July, but if the interest we’ve been receiving is anything to go by, they won’t be available for long!!!!

Hi All, I’m so very excited to be the first franchisee for in.cube8r.  The in.cube8r concept is growing fast, and soon will be an Australia wide presence that supports so many artists, helping them do what they love most, which is why I wanted to be a part of it from day one.

I was like so many other people the first time I walked into in.cube8r – I was in awe of the talent, and loved the ‘no commission on sales’ concept.  Isy and her crew of franchise reps have been great in leading us both through this process, and it’s been challenging and very very exciting!!

Just a bit about myself – I’m a 34 year old mother of two young boys, and wife to ever patient hubby Mark.  I am a potter, painter, scrapbooker, jewellery maker, sewer, handbag maker, and am now working hard to make sure Brisbane is blown away by the talented artists we have in Australia!!

We are looking to open our doors to the public in May – so we are currently in fitout mode!!!!  We have confirmed a great spot in Fortitude Valley, and are now planning all things trade based – measuring, moving cables, installing lights, sanding & polishing floors, and painting the shop!!  There are so many things to be done behind the scenes, but it’s fun to be able to spend my days doing something I am truly passionate about.

Training will be taking place in Melbourne, and I’m very excited to have a chance to do some clothes shopping while I’m down there!!!!!  Then once I’m back we start getting into the physical side of things – and the arrival of my cubes will mean that it’s all starting to happen!!

a new year a new chapter…

we’ve been busy beavers this last year and it’s official…

WE ARE FRANCHISING!!

people have told be over the last 2.5 years that they’d love an in.cube8r in their state or town.
i can’t open anymore, but we’ve worked together with the franchise alliance to create a very neat and tight package.

with specially written software that all the artists can log into to see their sales and inventory, it’s just plug in and go.
we’ve made all the mistakes and now it’s defined, refined and polished.

i’m a very proud mama indeed!!
it’s all about keeping it handmade, homemade and ethical!
we are the only business (that i know of) in victoria which take zero commission.

we have one franchise ready for every state of australia.
