There’s only one thing you need to know about in.cube8r
– WE’RE SUPPORTING AUSSIE MAKERS –
We believe that handmade has a strong societal value, and that now more than ever, locally made is super important. That’s why we work to empower local makers, helping them sell their products and teaching them how to turn their hobby into a business.
We run our spaces to be as interactive as possible and encourage our cubers and the general public to engage with us through our memberships, our group exhibitions, our workshops and as patrons of the arts.
We don’t see any reason to buy mass-produced when you can support small businesses, often run by parents of young children, retired people finally doing what they love, students, full time artists and dabblers.
There’s so much that can be created right here in Melbourne, and by supporting local businesses we’re shortening the supply chain and helping the public buy directly from the maker.

It takes an army to run in.cube8r!
The in.cube8r team is made up of artists and creatives who love all things Australian handmade and supporting local makers.
Most of our team members are creatives and small business owners themselves, or have worked in creative/marketing industries.
We understand the challenges that makers and artists face marketing their products, and with our combined experience across jewellery, fashion, visual art and object design we can support our cubers and assist them with selling their work in our shops.
Every person on the in.cube8r team has been handpicked for their dedication to their craft and unique talents that they bring to our organisation.

Elle-May
(she/they)
Elle-May took over in.cube8r in Feb 2016 after 10 years in a rewarding career doing marketing for Australian charities. Since arriving Elle has transformed in.cube8r and given it new life, opening a second in.cube8r in Prahran from 2019-2021, and then opening in.cube8r Melbourne Central in 2022.
Elle-May helps creatives, makers and artists create their dream side-hustles through curation and promotion and community building, as well as providing mentorship to makers who need a little hand holding along the way.
She’s not big on traditional “business speak” and breaks things down to the basics to help her clients understand not only why they need to take the steps in their plan, but how to take them. She is there to hold your hand through the more boring bits of crafting your own business. Find out more about mentoring with May

(she/her)
Clare has been part of the in.cube8r family since 2009! After working in the various in.cube8r shops across Melbourne for over 10 years, Clare now works behind the scenes assisting with accounting and invoicing.
Technically trained in jewellery design at Curtin University, Clare runs her own handmade business Skadi Jewellery Design, creating historically inspired contemporary saw pierced jewellery and costume accessories that tell a story.
Clare really likes cats and is at her happiest during Winter – these motifs both feature frequently in her jewellery designs.
