I have been making things all my life, from glass casting to making beaded lampshades. I begin with sourcing gemstones and other components that have caught my eye. This gets the ball rolling with design inspiration. Sometimes thinking about a gemstone purchase in the wee hours of the night can produce a new range for me. The idea for a design comes, then i have to work out how to execute the piece. This is my favourite stage in the design process.
I spend a lot of time in the bush which is fabulous for pondering over ideas while sitting on the verandah (usually with a G&T in hand). Nature is so inspiring and really makes me think about design and patterns. In the 90’s started casting crystal sculptures, mostly female nudes which led to a lampshade range consisting of hand beaded shades which then led to a passion for jewellery design. I Studied at NMIT.
