Georgia is a Melbourne based visual artist. A painter, printmaker and photographer. Utilising whimsy, humour and metaphors. Her work reflects a wide array of issues as she uses her art to interpret and understand her place in the world.

Georgia Laughton is a Melbourne based visual artist working in a wide range of mediums: painting, printmaking and photography. Georgia likes to create often whimsical and humour based artworks exploring a wide range of topics.

Recurring themes include animal rights, the environment and interrogating traditional notions of beauty. While Georgia strongly believes in art as a form of activism, her work remains personal and grounded as she explores her own place in the world. Expressing the tension between the didactic and the intimate in her paintings, she points to her recurring theme of birds; ‘sometimes it’s a metaphor and sometimes it’s just a bird’.
