Helen Macqueen Textile Art

Helen Macqueen started her lifelong textile journey learning embroidery and knitting from her mother. Later, Helen studied garment construction and patternmaking, which led to a love of quilting. In 2015 Helen graduated from Curtin University with a BA Fine Art and Visual Culture.

Helen’s mission is to create beautiful and useful one-off and small run textile items. Using a broad combination of materials and techniques she designs and makes art quilts, bags, books and homewares including aprons, cushion covers and embroideries.

Inspired by a love of photography, painting and stitch with a desire to minimize the amount of textiles going to landfill, Helen truly believes that there is no scrap of fabric too small to be used.

in.cube8r is home to more than 100 local makers selling a range of jewellery, art, homewares, fashion and more! And even better… it’s all made locally right here in Australia!

With 100% of every sale going directly to the artists, in.cube8r is one of the most unique stores in Melbourne. Artists are able to exhibit what they want, how they want and get to enjoy the experience of exhibiting amongst many other wonderful makers.

If you’re looking for a special gift, want to treat yourself or perhaps just need a little inspiration, come pay us a visit. We’re here to help you experience all that our makers have to offer. We hold regular events, workshops and do free gift wrapping too! What more could you ask for?!
