Helen Macqueen Textile Art

Textile art, accessories & journals

Helen Macqueen started her lifelong textile journey learning embroidery and knitting from her mother. Later, Helen studied garment construction and patternmaking, which led to a love of quilting. In 2015 Helen graduated from Curtin University with a BA Fine Art and Visual Culture. Helen’s mission is to create beautiful and useful one-off and small run textile items. Using a broad combination of materials and techniques she designs and makes art quilts, bags, books and homewares including aprons, cushion covers and embroideries. Inspired by a love of photography, painting and stitch with a desire to minimize the amount of textiles going to landfill, Helen truly believes that there is no scrap of fabric too small to be used.
