Suzanne Rourke designs and creates her resin art in Melbourne. She is influenced and inspired by the independent flow of the ocean, which, much like resin, has an ever-shifting beauty.
Suzanne recently moved to Australia after having lived in Ireland for the past three years. After toying with a variety of mediums for many years, she found resin. Having grown up on the ocean, the ocean became a prime model for her work. She worked diligently to recreate the waves of the ocean in her resin, obtaining a lacing effect. With each new piece created, the resin started to take on it’s own flow, and she became more of a conduit. Even now, the resin sometimes seems to create its own story.
Suzanne believes in the use of art as function. Hoping to make all of her pieces functional – from the coasters to the canisters.
