in.cube8r gallery & Maudie Osborne present “The Flowers of Romance”.
Maudie Osborne is a self-taught artist, activist and student based in Melbourne, Australia who is pleased to announce her first ever solo exhibition, The Flowers of Romance.
Politically dense, but aesthetically enticing, she draws much influence from current socio-political movements (and moments) to stimulate discourse around issues of class, race, gender and sexuality, and the intersections of these forces under capitalism.
Taking visual cues from Bauhaus, modernism and constructivist art, she works mostly in collage and mixed media and incorporates elements of photography and film into her work. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts and Fine Arts in film and art history.
Opening: Thursday, 3 May 2018, 6pm.
Continues to 15 May 2018
