“Aurora” upcycled vintage necklace by My Vintage Obsession
You will feel so feminine wearing this upcycled vintage necklace. The focus is an interesting 1960s mesh clip-back earring set with Aurora Borealis coated rhinestones. This coating which reflects light in rainbow colours was invented in the early 1950s and became an instant hit in vintage costume jewellery manufacture.
I have used soft lilac pearl beads from the 1950s-60s and some repurposed white facetted beads which gently reflect the same colours to complete this necklace. It is finished with a hook clasp and measures 44 cm around the neck edge with a small extender chain of 2 cm.
Sustainably made in my Melbourne workshop, this necklace contains vintage repurposed materials which may show signs of age in a deepened patina and minor wear. I think that is what gives them so much charm.
