‘Emergence’ was made using watercolours, colour pencils and ink on WC paper, featuring metallic gold accents.

This piece comes in a frame without glass, therefore the frame is for display purposes only.

‘Emergence’ was created in 2020 for a group exhibition hosted by MAVA.

The title and prompt of the exhibition was a ‘Passage of Time’.

Inspired by her autistic special interest in entomology, Thomas used metamorphosis as a simile for growth and time passing.

The title ‘Emergence’ draws another connection between the transformation an insect goes under in order to fully mature, to time passing.
