Empty Parks, Empty Streets, Empty Cities by Carin Lavery showing in Square

Watercolour – 35.5 x 35.5 x 0.5cm

Out of stock

This is a limited edition print of a painting that received an Honourable Mention in the 2021 Art Show International competition ‘How To remember 2020’. It is able to be popped straight into a 14″ square frame, available at Frames Now, 444 High St, Prahran – or from framers online and is sold with my Certificate of Authenticity.

The painting ponders the effect of Melbourne’s long-term lock down in 2020 as a result of COVID-19. The parks, streets and the city were empty. Even during the day, only a scattering of people were walking around. The pandemic has impacted lives with tragedy and loss, and also quietness and peace.
