As you may know, we launched our online store on Sunday just a few hours before the big announcement ... what timing!⁠And stage 4 = this little shop won’t be opening it’s doors to the public for at least the next 6 weeks

What you may not know, is how in.cube8r works.⁠⠀

We charge our cubers a daily membership fee for the days we open our store. And we pay them 100% of their sales. It's awesome and under normal circumstances it works really well for everyone involved!⁠⠀

So... Stage 4. No Retail. That means no days. That means not much in the way of revenue for this little biz.⁠

Seriously though, all the feels this last few week

Seriously though, all the feels this last few weeks. I feel like we're heading into an extended lockdown... anyone else?⁠
⁠
Doing one thing that scares you every day is a bit of a cliche, but it's true that the things holding us back often do so out of fear. Getting our online store offering happening has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions, working out how to fit it into our business model and make all our internal processes blend into it, but it's paying off, and it looks AMAZING!⁠
⁠
5 things I was scared of⁠
- that no one would shop online⁠
- that our makers wouldn't want to list their items⁠
- that our existing system worked pretty well, and taking a chance on a new one might not work out⁠
- that I didn't have the knowledge to make such a big project work⁠
- that it would all be for nothing and covid would never end. ⁠
⁠
However, I persevered... and today, we hit 1251 products online, and I think we might get to 1,500 by Sunday when we launch at 12pm (turn on a reminder in our stories so you can join the fun).⁠
⁠
The new system is awesome and though a bit time consuming right now the opportuntities are endless! ⁠
⁠
And while it certainly feels like covid is getting worse before it gets better, I am still optimistic that we, the people, hold the power to support small business through this mess and it seems to me that we are doing just that. ⁠
⁠

Oh Hi Hello! It's me Elle and I am in the #prahrancube in the @chapelprecinct today doing stocktakes and re-barcoding hundreds of products that we've imported into our online store over the last few days!⁠

I am also OPEN and have lots of Facemasks as well as lovely other tid-bits to make your week!⁠

My god. There's always more isn't there! Not sure what gave me the idea that changing our entire point of sale system would only take a week lol. ⁠

This has been my massive task of #lockdown2.0, changing our point of sale, creating a webstore and working with our cubers to train them on using the new systems and getting their products listed for our big launch on Sunday. ⁠
⁠
Lockdown1.0 was spent in existential dread and anxiety, but this time round I feel I can actually focus on planning for the future instead of 1 day ahead (though I am still trying to not plan more than a week ahead because things change so quickly).⁠
⁠
