This whimsical reimagined vintage necklace features a fragment of an unsigned brooch by J.J. (The Jonette Jewellery Co of the USA). Normally J.J. items are signed but perhaps that was worn or attached to the catch which was missing when I found this piece. I discovered its identity through research and learned that this design was named Mystic Pegasus by its makers.
I’ve combined it with repurposed vintage beads in mystical colours and style because that is obviously how it is meant to be…
This necklace is:
- ethically and sustainably made
- one of a kind
- made with a 1980s pewter brooch fragment and repurposed vintage beads
- 52.5 cm along the neck edge (refer to my necklace guide for more information) with the length of the Pegasus focal 8.5 cm
- finished with a hook clasp
Sustainably made in my Melbourne workshop, this necklace contains vintage repurposed materials which show signs of their age in a deepened patina and minor wear. I think that is what gives them so much charm.
