We as humans are dependent upon nature for our sense of identity, physical subsistence and our cultural stability. In more recent times we have seen the devastation from natural as well as man made forces that has greatly impacted our environment. Art is a vehicle for drawing attention to issues such as our environment, informing opinions and translating this through a visual experience that transcends time and space.⁠⠀

Mickayla’s main focus is psychedelic landscapes or any type of work with lots of colour. She enjoys making psychedelic art as she can make landscapes that don’t have to be traditional and can place colour wherever she wants such as making the sun bright pink without any questions. She also enjoys creating biomorphic abstraction sculptures using mediums that lots of artists don’t use such as gap filler and paper mache. She enjoys making these sculptures as they aren’t like everyone else’s and each one has their own flare.⁠⠀

Coraline Caroline is an illustrator based in Melbourne. She creates dream-like illustration portraits of witches, alchemy, celestial lovers and moody ladies. She adds a bit of magic to her illustrations using dream-like colours, metallics and constellations.⁠⠀

Embedded deep within the human psyche is the drive to search for permanence, this is hardly surprising given the chaotic world humankind has found itself in. The transient and hectic lifestyles of today often hamper our ability to pause, reflect and identify the core components of life that give us joy.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
Through the application of long (and super-long) exposure techniques Izzy attempts to reveal the ephemeral beauty that is often hidden beneath a turbulent, and frequently violent, environment. Utilising time, scale and texture he records the meeting point of earth, water and human construct, capturing the essence of the scene without distortion or distraction.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
All things disappear in time, and so, we can assume that there is no real permanence, except, ironically, the search for permanence itself. This is what motivates Izzy’s practice, what pushes him to create a record of the struggle of loss, survival and revelation for others to contemplate.⁠⠀
