“Shadow Series part 2” by Elle-Rose Dunn (showing in Biodiversity Exhibition)
We have been taught, for years that humans are at the top of the food chain. This makes us feel safe and smart and like we are in charge of all the lesser organisms on the earth. But are we at the top of a linear chain?
Though uncomfortable to think about, none of us will live forever. Have you ever thought about what happens to our bodies, our souls, and the footprint we leave behind when we pass on?
If we were to acknowledge that we are not at the top of anything and that we are a functioning link in the cycle we might see our place in the world a little differently. We might see our impact on the world a little clearer. It might be easier to see how we are connected to the very fabric of everything we see in one way or the other and that we are not separate or more important, we are a part of it all.
