Shorts – Tribal Lines – Cotton by Seamstress Philosophy

$140.00

The fabric for this piece was always seen as fantastic. Although, with the direction of lines, it took time to decide what to create with the fabric. The shapes and patterns creating such a bold flair.

Every time the fabric was viewed it was placed back on the shelf having no idea how to use it. It wasn’t until a thirty-year-old pattern was found that the whole ensemble came into being.

The pattern was found in a thrift store in Newport and even included the original receipt dated 1991. Quirkily enough the same date my brother was born. It’s the little things which make the tale of each garment so interesting.

The style of the pattern expanded on the flairing boldness of the fabric. The expansive pockets added extra flavour to the angular design. So expansive that the Tardis might even be found within them.

The cotton fabric came from a fellow seamstress who was simply passing along a portion of their stash which was no longer required.
