Each day Georgia paints a daily egg (most days sharing a time lapse of the painting of it on her Instagram). Sometimes they are a whimsical and satirical reflections of current events – either happening in her own little world, or out there in the big wide world. Sometimes they are just to make her laugh.
This is an oil painting, painted inside an embroidery loom (10cm in diameter) The painting can be either hung directly on the wall, or displayed on the little easel that comes with it.

Georgia Laughton is a Melbourne based visual artist working in a wide range of mediums: painting, printmaking and photography. Georgia likes to create often whimsical and humour based artworks exploring a wide range of topics. Recurring themes include animal rights, the environment and interrogating traditional notions of beauty. While Georgia strongly believes in art as a form of activism, her work remains personal and grounded as she explores her own place in the world. Expressing the tension between the didactic and the intimate in her paintings, she points to her recurring theme of birds; 'sometimes it's a metaphor and sometimes it's just a bird'.
