This series was created in reaction to two encounters with dingoes/wild dogs during an artist in residency program at Namadgi National Park, the northern end of the Australian Alps, in November 2020. I was inadvertently caught up in chases between the pack of canids and kangaroos during early morning walks. The thought of becoming prey, of seeing myself in a new way in the scheme of things and as an edible source of food, was terrifying. How to visually respond expressing such encounters was difficult and took some months. I reverted to a familiar format, the glasses case, and used my skill as an embroiderer to make visible these events, yet being able to shut them away at will.
