Vest – Image Tale – Cotton, Linen by Seamstress Philosophy
The fabric for this piece is simply wonderful and it took time to decide what to create with it. Something which would allow the image to be seen in its best light. Creating the vest was deemed suitable as it allowed a large portion of the image to be seen as a whole.
With a blend of fabrics, cotton for the main fabric and linen for the lining. Although, this piece can be reversed and worn both ways if desired. Pockets inside and out creating a seamless switch.
The cotton pattern fabric was designed by ‘A. Napanangka’ for, ‘M&S Textiles’, based in Collowingwood. The company works with artists so their stories may be told. They want to provide the opportunity for these stories to be express and experienced by many and for it to passed on through the years.
The linen fabric was purchased from a clothing company which closed down in Brunswick in 2019. The fabric was originally purchased as a sample piece from Japan for a clothing range.
